Kainogenesis: pKrueger

I’ve learned a new word. Kainogenesis is the development of structures and organs in an embryo or larva that are adaptations to its way of life and are not retained in the adult form. The reason I’ve chosen that word for the coming line of posts, is because these lists will be ranging from average to awful in an attempt to teach myself some skills as a player that I cannot learn when fielding top-tuned killer lists. These combinations will probably never show up in a real list but maybe they’ll teach me some things, so that when I actually field the tuned lists…

The lists will usually include one or two choices that most people consider sub-par, or at least sub-par with the caster in question. In the beginning the lists will be more tuned since I still suck royally with Circle, but the more I get the hang of it the worse the lists are supposed to become, culminating with a list that includes all four Lesser Warlocks. This might be a twenty series long parade of embarrassing losses, or I might get the hang of it quickly and get to the more interesting things: only the dice lord knows!

Krueger the Stormwrath
– Gorax
– Gnarlhorn Satyr
– Warpwolf Stalker
Druids of Orboros (Leader and 5 Grunts)
– Druid of Orboros Overseer
Shifting Stones
– Stone keeper
Shifting Stones
Tharn Bloodtrackers (Leader and 5 Grunts)
– Nuala the Huntress
Tharn Ravagers (Leader and 3 Grunts)
– Tharn Ravager Chieftain
Druid Wilder
Gallows Grove
Gallows Grove

The Gnarlhorn Satyr is a fairly common choice but I’ve never gotten it to work the way it’s supposed to, and the Tharn Ravagers are universally considered a pretty rotten choice with a caster that handles most enemy infantry on his own. I’ve decided to go without any Geomancers and instead included a pile of anti-infantry models, because I would like to be forced to think around the brute force approach I’ve had with Cryx for so long.

There’s a backup plan in place with the Warpwolf Stalker, but if I lose him I’m up shit creek so he’ll be camping down back with the second set of shifting stones while looking for an opening to double shift his way to victory. If all goes well he should never see any real action, but I know that’s a pipe dream.

  1. I want to fit an Argus in there but I can’t seem to find the points without removing one of the other “interesting” options. I’m considering removing the Bloodtrackers but I want to try the Prey and Lightning Tendrils trick at least once.
